About the Event
Please join us and Dr. Mary Leinhos as we explore the current global situation and discuss what we can do as individuals and a community to navigate this transitional time.Â
Dr. Mary Leinhos earned a Masters degree in molecular and cellular biology, and a PhD in higher education studies, with a concentration in science & technology policy and a minor in culture, science and technology studies. Her dissertation project was supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation and published as a book, exploring the challenges that the field of bioethics faces while trying to become a stable, legitimate voice that speaks truth to the power of biomedical technology. Mary has 16 years of experience in public health science, including work in human research ethics and 10 years managing and collaborating on disaster preparedness and response research programs. She has a special interest in humanizing public health - protecting the most vulnerable, and understanding how social factors affect health practices.Â
She joins us for this Integration Circle wearing a very different hat, as a career and life coach with Eleven Coaching in Atlanta, GA. Mary has a longstanding interest in philosophy and personal development and transformation, beginning in college with her involvement in Re-evaluation Counseling. Later, she completed several trainings with Landmark Worldwide, most recently including Communication courses. In 2017 she hired a coach to overcome career burnout and shake free of stagnating in her professional comfort zone and was inspired to become a coach herself and empower others to live more freely.Â
While not formally affiliated with any religious organization or belief system, Mary has studied and draws from interfaith contemplative wisdom traditions, mainly in the Christian and Buddhist realms. She is a yogini of 10 years and practices meditation and hiking. Â
We look forward to meeting you online.
